Missionaries are the true heroes of today - men, women and children who have surrendered all and determined to fulfill the Great Commission by carrying the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the farthest corners of the globe.

(DISCLAIMER: I am a member of an Independent, Fundamental KJV-preaching, soul-winning Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. However, this blog is my own creation and is not a ministry of Bethany Baptist Church. Missionaries featured in this space may or may not be supported by my church. Inclusion in this list does not imply any affiliation with Bethany Baptist Church, nor does it offer any extra "in" for a missionary to present his work at our church. Inviting a missionary to our church is not my decision, but my Pastor's. I'm sorry to have to include this, but don't want to have any misunderstandings to come out of what is intended to be a blessing.)

Reasoner ... Michelle Reasoner

OK, it's not quite as catchy as "Bond ... James Bond," but with a blog called "From Russia With Love," I had to try the tie-in!

I'm really excited for you all to meet Bro. Joel and Mrs. Michelle Reasoner, because you can jump in and catch her blog from the very beginning (at: http://fromrussiawithlove-michelle.blogspot.com/).

That's right, not only are the Reasoners are a brand new missionary couple, she is also a very recent blogger! Now I do have to qualify myself a little - Bro. Joel is nowhere near a new missionary. He grew up in Russia with his parents, veteran missionaries Ron and Kathy Reasoner. Now, though, he and Mrs. Michelle have just started their first term together, looking forward to pursuing ministry opportunities with the Reindeer People of northern Russia.

Mrs. Michelle has only written five posts for "From Russia With Love," so it shouldn't be hard for you to catch up with all of her news, then follow their adventures over the coming months and years - as she says in her introduction, "As the Lord works and directs in our lives in the coming months and years, I'd like to share that with you."

So please hop on over to "With Russia From Love" and meet the Reasoners. If you're interested in keeping up with them, I would encourage you to subscribe to the blog, and also sign up to receive email updates.

(While you're at it, I'd really appreciate it if you'd follow my blog as well, and sign up for email updates, too!)

Enjoy your trip to Russia, folks, and keep the Reasoners in your prayers.

In Christ,

Bro. Garry

  1. I ESPECIALLY enjoyed this new blog address! I have heard of the Reasoners, but really know nothing about them or their family. I was especially intrigued by the title of Michelle's blog since it is so similar to mine. I just wrote her and want to thank you for making this connection for me. She and I are both in Russian-speaking countries, so this should be fun!
