Missionaries are the true heroes of today - men, women and children who have surrendered all and determined to fulfill the Great Commission by carrying the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the farthest corners of the globe.

(DISCLAIMER: I am a member of an Independent, Fundamental KJV-preaching, soul-winning Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. However, this blog is my own creation and is not a ministry of Bethany Baptist Church. Missionaries featured in this space may or may not be supported by my church. Inclusion in this list does not imply any affiliation with Bethany Baptist Church, nor does it offer any extra "in" for a missionary to present his work at our church. Inviting a missionary to our church is not my decision, but my Pastor's. I'm sorry to have to include this, but don't want to have any misunderstandings to come out of what is intended to be a blessing.)

In Support of Israel

So what do we as Christians actually KNOW about the Old Testament promises God made to Israel? Gen. 12:3 says, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed," but how does that affect us in 21st Century America?

I'm so glad you asked! It is my absolute privilege and honor to introduce you to a tremendous young man whose missionary blog gives us a great Biblical perspective on the Nation of Israel and its place in the prophetical calender.

David Sloan (yep, another Sloan; husband of Mrs. Jolene and son of Mrs. Billie) is a veteran missionary serving in Ukraine. He is (like his brother Tom from my last post) is a third-generation missionary.

I met Bro. David and his family (including Mrs. Billie) several years ago and am totally impressed with this young man. He is fluent in (five??) languages and is extremely knowledgeable in the cultures of Mexico, Ukraine and Israel.

You will really appreciate his perspective on God's Chosen People. Reading about them through "In Support of Israel" will give you a great burden for these people.

You can find "In Support of Israel" here: http://david-insupportofisrael.blogspot.com/

As with all of these blogs, if you want to keep up with them on your own, you may subscribe and sign up to receive email updates.

Have a wonderful day everyone and keep praying for missions!!
