Missionaries are the true heroes of today - men, women and children who have surrendered all and determined to fulfill the Great Commission by carrying the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the farthest corners of the globe.

(DISCLAIMER: I am a member of an Independent, Fundamental KJV-preaching, soul-winning Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. However, this blog is my own creation and is not a ministry of Bethany Baptist Church. Missionaries featured in this space may or may not be supported by my church. Inclusion in this list does not imply any affiliation with Bethany Baptist Church, nor does it offer any extra "in" for a missionary to present his work at our church. Inviting a missionary to our church is not my decision, but my Pastor's. I'm sorry to have to include this, but don't want to have any misunderstandings to come out of what is intended to be a blessing.)

Brand new missionaries (REALLY new!)

It's amazing to me how God continually brings new missionaries across my path! When I began this adventure, I wanted to see the world through the eyes of missions. Well He has come through in an amazing way so far, and I'm convinced we've only just begun.

Today, God has brought us a new missionary family to meet - the Abrams family. And when I say they're new, I mean it in every sense of the world. I met them for the first time when I found their blog, "The Abrams to China." As I learned more about them, I found out that Bro. Sam and Mrs. Mandi are brand new missionaries! In fact, this young couple are still on deputation! In addition, they are brand new parents-to-be, awaiting the birth of their first child!

God has called Bro. Sam and Mrs. Mandi to minister to the Cantonese people of Hong Kong. You can find their blog here: http://www.cantoneseforchrist.blogspot.com/. They are trying to get a baby born and finish deputation in time to leave the US in March of this year. Please pray for them, that they will meet this goal.

As you look around their blog, check out their salvation testimonies and plans for their ministry to the Chinese of Hong Kong. I encourage you to browse through the entries to get a good picture of what is going on the lives of the Abrams. Please subscribe to their blog, sign up for the email updates and, most importantly, pray for their upcoming ministry.

Also, don't forget to subscribe to updates to this blog, refer me to your friends, and pray for me as well. Stay faithful to your local church, continue to give to world missions and may God bless all of our missionaries as they fulfill the Great Commission throughout the world.

Have a great week!

In Christ,

Bro. Garry

  1. Thanks, Garry! I believe we have met this couple before, but I did not know they had a blog until I read this post.
